Bulldog Natural Deodorant (Lemon & Bergamot) – Review
Following on from my previous review of Bulldog’s natural deodorant range (I reviewed their peppermint & eucalyptus deodorant here), I thought I would try out their lemon and bergamot range. Now, if you did read the previous, I did advise that I am not normally one for roll on deodorants. That said, they provide less of a headache and less of an irritation to me in general.
BULLDOG NATURAL DEODORANT (LEMON & BERGAMOT) – REVIEW
I’m a big fan of citrus based scents, so this was a no brainer. As with most lemon infused scents, the freshness immediately comes through. It’s not as potent as I had hoped it would be, but I did mention the same with the peppermint & eucalyptus. I can forgive Bulldog for this minor ailment.
Fresh from a wash and following application to my armpits, this deodorant had me feeling fresh; there’s no overbearing after ‘waft’ leaving me suddenly unsure if I made the right choice. What I will say however, is the smell of bergamot did come through more so after application. And prior to placing a clean t-shirt on, I did stop and briefly wonder if the balance was right.
I love bergamot, but in shower gels, soaps, deodorants and as an essential oil, I can sometimes find it has a bit of a dirty after-kick which doesn’t give me the same uplift as others in its family. I got the same feeling here.
Having worn it multiple times since, I barely notice it. It doesn’t blow me away as a deodorant, but it is one I would likely purchase again. The lemon isn’t as strong as I like – but that said, we’re not trying to get rid of a cold here!
As a deodorant, it’s gentle, clean, light, vegan friendly and works well paired with a lightly scented moisturiser for the rest of the body or just on its own.
Your pits, your rules.
